This is Samsung’s multi-flexible future

 Samsung is undoubtedly at the forefront of flip phones, although the first Galaxy Fold had a tough start, last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 were impressive devices that fulfilled the promise of how practical a folding screen device can be.But the company doesn’t stop with these shape factors; at CES 2022, showed a bunch of prototype folding devices that could hint at the collapsible ones coming.

Take the Flex S, a multi-collapsible device that can be stretched all the way up to three times wide screen. Or the Flex G, a pocket-sized device that folds inward to protect the screen. There’s even a device with a right rail that slips out to add a little screen space. And Samsung even showed off a 17-inch foldable laptop. A laptop that does not have a physical keyboard. The whole surface is actually a display, such a design, although futuristic, it is questionable what the functionality would be. That is, how difficult it would be to get used to a virtual keyboard and work on it. Durability is also questionable because unlike cell phones, a laptop is a working machine and most people use it for a minimum of 8 hours a day, which could be a problem for a plastic screen. Especially the violent hitting of the “Enter” key after a successful task (I know I’m not the only one doing it). 

The Flex S and Flex G are also interesting devices, but they are just slightly modified versions of what Samsung already offers, i.e. another screen and another flap. These devices really give more space to work, but if you ask me, in addition to the already existing Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, these devices are unnecessary.
